I have 33 years experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I had a practice in California for many years before moving to Oregon and have continued to work with many families and marriages. I am using my experience to help people remove the obstacles to giving and receiving the love that God has so mercifully given to us. My practice is currently in Newberg, Oregon. My California license is active and in good standing.
"Hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us" Romans 5:5
The heart of my practice is to Respond to Gods Love. This is why I have created a ecumenical Christ centered counseling practice. I want to create a ministry of reconciliation with God, self, and others.
A few of the concepts that I have found that foster healthy relationships are:
· Kind and open communication
· Win/Win conflict resolution
· Mercy and Grace
· Accountability and Boundaries
· Forgiveness and reconciliation
· Growth and development towards healthy relationships
· Healing emotional wounds and trauma
· Recovering from addictions
· Stress Management
· Setting Christ centered goals
· Developing the Fruits of the Spirit
I have found over the years that all of the principles that work for change and healing in counseling are found in the Bible and the traditions of the church. I also utilize cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, communication and family systems theories.
I have a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Sonoma State University
